Welcome to the site of Dorothy Powers, Music Director of Clay High School (South Bend, Indiana) from 1962 to 1988. Although impossible to adequately present all of Dorothy's accomplishments over her teaching/performing career, this site archives a large number of photographs, newspaper clips, sound bytes and video clips--the majority from Dottie's own private memorabilia collection! PLEASE NOTE: We are all very saddened by the loss of our dear teacher and friend. Dorothy passed away at 94 years of age on August 18, 2022 at 8:05 PM. (See her official obituary under What's New at this web site.) I hope this web site will be available for many years to come, presenting the Legacy of Dorothy Powers and her students.
